Vietnam wins first int’l bowling gold medal
Duc outplayed eight bowlers from Singapore, five from host Thailand, and two from Hong Kong in the Masters round of the championship. The young Vietnamese representative scored a total of 1,923 points after eight games, with an average of 240.38 points, 77 points more than Thailand’s Putana to win the gold medal – which is the first-of-its-kind international achievement for Vietnamese bowling. Duc is considered an outstanding young talent of Vietnamese bowling, having participated in the 31st Southeast Asian Games in Hanoi in May. He is currently a student at Hong Bang University in Ho Chi Minh City.
