Disadvantaged Communities in Quang Tri, Hoa Binh Get Support in Ireland-Funded Program

Illustrative image: VNA The consortium of three organizations, Plan International Vietnam , CARE International in Vietnam , and the Center for Research on Initiatives of Community Development (RIC) on August 26 held a workshop to introduce the program “Reaching the Furthest Behind – Improving the quality of life of especially disadvantaged community groups in Quang Tri and Hoa Binh provinces” in Dong Ha city, Quang Tri province. The event was a prelude to the cooperation with relevant agencies during the upcoming implementation of activities to create positive changes for communities. (Photo: VNA) The Vietnamese delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Ha Kim Ngoc, emphasized Vietnam ’s consistent stance on supporting radical nuclear weapon disarmament to prevent nuclear weapon proliferation and upholding the right to use nuclear technology for peaceful purposes while highlighting the need for the international community to make every effort to solve common nuclear challenges. The delegation also shared opinions on issues of great international concern, including upholding the role of the NPT, and stressed the humanitarian consequences of the use of nuclear weapons. Vietnam Attracts Investment from 94 Countries and Territories Globally

Photo: VOV As of August 20, the total newly-registered capital, including adjusted and contributed capital for share purchases and capital contributions from foreign investors, hit close to US$16.8 billion, equal to 87.7% of the same period from the previous year. Although newly-registered investment capital recorded a decline, both adjusted investment capital and contributed capital to buy shares of foreign investors continued to increase during the reviewed period. Specifically, there were 1,135 new projects which granted investment registration certificates with a total registered capital of over US$6.35 billion, a drop of 43.9% on-year. Most notably, a total of 676 projects were registered to adjust their investment capital, with the total registered capital exceeding US$7.5 billion, representing an annual increase of 50.7%.
