Storm Ma-on floods streets after making landfall in northern Vietnam
Drivers face plenty of difficulties when travel ling on roads due to the torrential rain in Ha Long City at 11 p.m. on August 25. After making landfall in southern China, storm Ma-on was downgraded into a tropical low depression before heading to the northeastern region of Vietnam, including Quang Ninh and Hai Phong provinces. Many residents are concerned about the heavy downpours and rising rainwater which could potential overflow into local houses. A tree is unrooted on Lo Bat street in Mong Cai City on the evening of August 25, although no one is injured. Mong Cai City records five trees which fell onto local streets. Many areas in Ha Long, Uong Bi, and Cam Pha cities in Quang Ninh province are left submerged due to the impact of the tropical low depression.
