Vietnam pavilion attracts visitors at Mediterranean Tourism Exchange

This is the first time that the Embassy of Vietnam in Italy participated in the BTM, one of the largest annual tourism events in the European country, which attracts more than 10,000 visitors and 400 exhibitors from 26 countries. Visitors showed great interest in Vietnam’s rich cultural heritages and diverse tourism services. This year, Vietnam and Italy are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their bilateral ties (March 23, 1973-2023) and 10 years of strategic partnership (January 2013-2023). Through the past 50 years, the relationship between Vietnam and Italy have been marked with cultural and economic developments. Ha Giang province ready to host first Moc Mien flower festival

The event will mark the first time that the festival has been held in Ha Giang province, with the aim of promoting the special cultural features of the ethnic minority group in mountainous area whilst simultaneously developing the local tourism sector. The festival will involve a wide range of activities such as ethnic costume competition, and Khen flute performance of Mong ethnic group. During the event tourists will have opportunities to enjoy taking photos in Moc Mien flower gardens; visiting Dong Van Karst Plateau, a UNESCO-recognized Global Geopark; and planting Moc Mien trees. It is part of a traditional festival to celebrate the Khen flute of the Mong ethnic group who reside in Ha Giang province. Cu Chi Tunnels proposed for UNESCO World Heritage Site recognition

Information on the plans was released on February 9 by Lam Ngo Hoang Anh, chief of office of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Culture and Sports.  The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism is scheduled to send the document to the Ministry of National Defense, the National Commission for UNESCO, and the National Council of Cultural Heritage, asking for opinions on a summary report of the scientific dossier of the Cu Chi Tunnels. The dossier is expected to be submitted to UNESCO in order to introduce the relic site into the list of proposed World Heritage records. As part of the next phase, Ho Chi Minh City will co-ordinate with the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to report to the Prime Minister for permission to work alongside the National Committee of UNESCO to register with the UNESCO World Heritage Center, aiming to put the historical site into the list moving forward.
