Visitors rush to moss-covered rocks at Da Nang beach

Image
Images of the moss-blanketed rocks on the beach have gone viral on social media. The best time to admire the scene is early in the morning, so many people have reached the site from the early morning to wait for sunrise. At 8:00 am on Saturday, Nam O Beach was crowded with visitors. Many people from neighboring Thua Thien Hue and Quang Nam Province have also arrived at the beach to admire and take photos with the moss-coated rocks. The grey rocks have been covered with green moss, which is an interesting natural phenomenon. The site has emerged as a new ‘check-in point’ for locals and tourists. The ‘moss season’ at Nam O Beach is an annual phenomenon after the Lunar New Year (Tet) holiday. The moss flourishes for 15-20 days before withering. The bauhinia variegata flowers are conspicuous, white and purple, with five soft petals, featuring the typical beauty of the high mountain in the north. The Ban flower season starts in late February and lasts till April. When the flowers are blooming, they look like a fan. Although there are several colours, white and purple are the main colours. At the beginning of the flower season, many roads in Hanoi look more romantic and attractive. On weekends, many foreign visitors choose to call at Ciputra to watch bauhinia variegate blossoming. “We feel as if we get lost in a mountain in the northern highlands of Vietnam,” says Shachin, an Indian visitor and his wife. The Indian couple do not forget to capture an impressive moment right in Hanoi instead of travelling far up north. “We are very happy and l

Australian magazine Traveller has named Banh Cuon (steamed rice paper rolls) one of the world’s 10 best dishes to try along with Japan’s sushi and Malaysia’s Sarawak Laksa noodle soup. “There’s a certain magic to the way these big sheets of steamed rice noodles are made before they’re wrapped around savory fillings and served with herbs and sauce,” the magazine said about Vietnam’s Banh Cuon. Banh cuon is a traditional Vietnamese dish that is always overshadowed by the omnipresent banh mi or pho. Vietnam’s Da Lat announces plans for new night market, casino

According to the plan recently submitted by local authorities to the Lam Dong Province government for approval, the city has selected 16 potential locations for facilities that would constitute its night-time economy for the 2023-30 period. The new establishments would include a modern night shopping area replacing the current night market in the city center and a casino at Thung Lung Tinh Yeu (Valley of Love), a well-known destination, city authorities said on Wednesday.   The new night market would be situated at the Anh Sang (Light) Garden on Nguyen Van Cu Street in the city’s downtown area, about 100 meters from the existing night market on Nguyen Thi Minh Khai Street.  The market would have stands for souvenirs, typical Da Lat commodities, street food, and facilities for cultural and recreational activities, including painting, artwork, magic performances, and dancing. Meanwhile, the proposed casino, which would be the first of its kind in Da Lat, is expected to open in Thung
