More children receive COVID-19 vaccines ahead of new school year
Parents and children must wait for their turns in an inoculation site in Trung Hoa ward’s healthcare station in Cau Giay district. Both parents and children feel worried before the children get vaccinated. Most people don face masks and follow COVID-19 prevention and control measures which remain in place. Parents are required to fill in a paper giving their consent. Doctor Nguyen Thi Xuan of Trung Hoa ward’s healthcare station says around 200 schoolchildren were injected at Trung Hoa primary school on August 25 morning. The Pfizer vaccine is used for inoculation for children aged five to 11. Localities are currently speeding up vaccinations in the face of the emergence of new sub-variants of the Omicron virus, such as BA.4 and BA.5, throughout the country.
