Brazilian films to be screened in Ho Chi Minh City

A total of five outstanding Brazilian movies, including “O Roubo da Taça”, “Uma História de Amor e Fúria”, “Trinta”, “Nise – O Coração da Loucura”, and “Colegas” will be screened free of charge at the Institute of Cultural Exchange with France (IDECAF). Through this event the Embassy of Brazil in Vietnam is keen to introduce a range of unique aspects and characteristics of Brazilian culture to enthusiastic local viewers. According to details given by the Embassy, all of the movies will be shown in their original language, whilst also featuring Vietnamese subtitles for the viewing pleasure of the general public.  A Brazilian Film Week was previously held in Hanoi in May, drawing plenty of attention from local people. Concert promoting peace to debut in Vietnam

According to a VNOB representative, the world has experienced many difficulties and pain due to epidemics and disasters, so “peace” has become even more precious and the theatre wanted to organise the concerts to look forward to a better future. “A mass for peace” is a work by Welsh composer Karl Jenkins. The piece was released in 2000 and has been performed by orchestras and choirs around the world but has never been staged in Vietnam. The work opens with the sound of a solemn marching drum, followed by sad and tragic melodies about the sacrifice and loss of the victims of disasters. It ends with the sound of new beginnings and aspirations for peace for people all over the world. This is Chinh’s first official visit to Cambodia as Prime Minister of Vietnam, and it is also the first visit of a key Vietnamese leader to Cambodia during the Vietnam – Cambodia Friendship Year 2022. Upon his arrival, PM Pham Minh Chinh lays flowers at the Independence Monument, King Norodom Sihanouk Memorial, and Vietnam-Cambodia Friendship Movement in Phnom Penh. Lang Minh Farm is a project created by the Women’s Union of Lang Minh Commune with the contributions of local organizations such as the Youth Union, the Farmers’ Union, and the Veterans’ Association. Lang Minh Farm pink lotus field in Dong Minh hamlet, Lang Minh commune has become one of the most attractive check-in points for young people in the past 1 month. Not only in Xuan Loc alone, through the images spread on social networks, many people in neighboring localities, even from Ho Chi Minh City, Ba Ria-Vung Tau also come here to take pictures and check in with Vietnam’s national flower.
