Vung Tau kite flying festival excites crowds
A fancy kite in the shape of a girl dressed in Ao Dai (traditional long dress) A dolphin-shaped kite is prepared for release. The kite flying festival aims to celebrate the Hung Kings Commemoration Day which occurs on the 10th day of the third lunar month, National Reunification Day on April 30, as well as International Labour Day on May 1. A craftsman is putting the finishing touches to his work. The weather on the morning of April 29 is very favourable for flying kites to fly high. Craftsmen put the finishing touches to the kite before releasing it. Testing the string before releasing the kite Vu Dinh Luc of the Vietnam kite club makes some preparations before flying his kites. Along with the kites, street music, modern dance, a Don Ca Tai Tu music performance, and lion dances are expected to excite visitors at the festival.
