Vietnam’s Binh Thuan glows during opening night of National Tourism Year

The National Tourism Year 2023 will feature over 200 events, with 13 of them to be organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and other ministries. Among them, Binh Thuan Province will host more than 30 cultural, tourism and sports events, while rolling out 164 other events with the participation of 41 centrally-administered cites and provinces throughout the year. Hanoian children enjoy recycled playgrounds

Every afternoon, the “Children’s Recycled Playground” in Hoang Lien 2 Residential Area, Lien Mac Ward, Bac Tu Liem District, buzzes with conversation and laughter.  “There are few public playgrounds for children, so it is our wish to have one that is safe and friendly,” said Phuong Thuy, a resident of the ward.  A recycled playground in Lien Mac Ward, Bac Tu Liem District. Photo: Greenhub The Lien Mac Ward Women’s Union came up with the idea to build this playground using recycled materials and equipped with toys made from recycled materials, according to the union’s Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hong Huyen. So far, the playground, which costs nearly VND40 million (US$1,705), has completed all the components, including a four-way seesaw, a tire wall, tables, chairs, and other things.  Made of durable materials, vividly decorated and suitable for children, this is one of the city’s “green playground” models. British Museum & Library Introduces Documents about Vietnam

The event was organized by the Vietnamese Embassy to the UK within the framework of the “Vietnam Days in the UK” program lasting from March 28 to April 27. The program is to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam – the UK . It also attracts the British public interested in Vietnamese culture as well as the Vietnamese community in the UK. At the event, Dr. Sud Chonchirdsin, Curator for Vietnam at the British National Library from 2005 – 2019, referred to historical documents proving that the Vietnam – UK trade relationship was formed 350 years before the two countries officially established diplomatic relations in 1973. 15 short stories by Vietnamese writer published in RoK

The collection spans a total of 462 pages, featuring his most popular stories, including “Tuong ve huu” (Retired Army General), “Nhung ngon gio Hua Tat” (Winds in Hua Tat village), “Muoi Cua Rung” (Salt From Forest), and “Khong co vua” (No King).  Each of the pieces was translated by Kim Joo Young under the auspices of the Daesan Foundation in the Republic of Korea. Nguyen Huy Thiep (1950-2021) hailed form the northern province of Thai Nguyen and is notable for being one of the country’s most talented short story writers since 1975. Throughout his 50-year career, Thiep wrote a total of 50 short stories, 10 scripts, four novels, and plenty of literary criticism. His works have since been translated into many languages, ​​such as French, English, German, Italian, and Dutch. He was awarded the French Literature and Arts Medal back in 2007 and the Premio Nonino prize by Italian authorities in 2008.
