In order to honor traditional pho and Vietnamese culinary culture, Tuoi Tre (Youth) newspaper, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, organized the pho experience event, as part of the sixth ‘Day of Pho – December 12’ celebration, with the cooperation of the Vietnam Culinary Culture Association and the Nam Dinh People’s Committee, as well as the official sponsoship of Acecook Vietnam Joint Stock Company. The two Vietnamese films on the list are “‘578: Phat Dan Cua Ke Dien” (578: Magnum) and the documentary feature “Nhung Dua Tre Trong Suong” (Children of the Mist). “578: Magnum,” an action movie directed by Luong Dinh Dung, was submitted to the Academy Awards in September. Director Ha Le Diem’s “Children of the Mist” is among the best documentaries to be released in Vietnam this year and has been screened at film festivals in several countries, including the U.S., France, Australia, Mexico, Kosovo, Singapore, and Cambodia. “Children of the Mist” won Best International Film at the 2022 Docaviv Film Festival in Israel and Best Directing Award at the International Documentary Film Festival (IDFA) in the Netherlands, giving Vietnamese cinephiles hope that it will win big at the Oscars. The event is taking place as part of the ninth Da Lat flower festival held from December 18 to December 31. The festival has been held every two years since 2005. On display are more than 100 photos detailing the activities of Da Lat flower festivals through the years, with most of the images taken mostly by reporters nationwide. The exhibition introduces paintings and wooden sculptures of some local artists about the Da Lat flower festivals. The event is scheduled to last through to December 31.
