Current rules require travel lers to show proof of full vaccination to board flights to and enter the United States. “Sadly, I will not be able to travel to NY this time for US Open,” Djokovic wrote on Twitter. “Good luck to my fellow players! I’ll keep in good shape and positive spirit and wait for an opportunity to compete again.” The Serbian previously said he was prepared to miss Grand Slam tournaments that require participating players to be vaccinated against COVID-19. On-site auctions – prospects for Vietnam’s painting market

The exhibition, named ‘Timeless Souls: Beyond the Voyage – Hon Xua Ben La’, featured over 50 works by Le Thi Luu, Le Pho, Mai Trung Thu and Vu Cao Dam, the four renowned early generation graduates from the École des Beaux-Arts de l’Indochine (EBAI) who migrated to France in early the 20th century. Ace Le, an independent researcher and writer on Vietnamese art who was selected by Sotheby’s to co-curate this public exhibition, this is a unique exhibition for Sotheby’s itself, as the auction house mainly organises non-selling ones in Europe. Normally, Sotheby’s only exhibits when they buy and sell artworks. “We are proud to stage Sotheby’s very first exhibition in Vietnam , in the vibrant town of Ho Chi Minh City, where we hope to reconnect the public with its rich cultural heritage through these exceptional and local works of art,” said Nathan Drahi, Managing Director, Sotheby’s Asia. Ace Le said that international statistics show that Vietnam is the best-growing art market in Sou

Co Tu ethnic people celebrate new rice festival

Image
Rice is one of the indispensable items in the daily life of various ethnic groups, including the Co Tu. The shaman and elderly prepare offerings ahead of the crop-praying festival. Locals come together to plant a “Cay Neu”, which is an extremely tall bamboo tree. In the old days, Vietnamese people put up tall bamboo poles decorated with red garment strips in the belief that the poles prevented ghosts from entering the community during the festival. Elderly people perform a ritual to show their sincere thanks to the genies. The ritual of slaughtering buffalo makes up a crucial part of the festival. Co Tu ethnic women perform traditional dances to show their respect to the genies and to expect a new bumper crop ahead. The ritual of praying for a bumper crop has been passed down from generation to generation. The post Co Tu ethnic people celebrate new rice festival appeared first on Vietexplorer.com .
