Gift market does brisk trade ahead of Valentine’s Day
In Vietnam, young people enthusiastically celebrate the day and often give special gifts to their lovers to mark the occasion. A wide range of attractive and beautiful gifts have been available for purchase ever since late January. Each unique box of gifts costs around VND1.8 million to VND3.7 million, including roses, chocolate, and fruit imported from abroad. The rose represents a traditional Valentine’s Day gift, whilst flower prices have seen a twofold increase compared to normal days. Flowers are priced at between VND500,000 to VND1.3 million per bouquet. Flowers go on sale on Nguyen Chi Thanh, Tran Duy Hung, and Le Van Luong streets. The prices of wax roses hovers at around VND100,000 to VND500,000 per bouquet. The main gifts include decorated chocolate put in a glass bottle or a paper box selling for between VND350,000 and VND500,000. Balloons in different shapes are worth VND80,000 to VND2
