Festival promotes Indian culture in Hanoi

The event is designed to celebrate the 75th anniversary of India’s independence, known as “Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav”, 50 years of India-Vietnam diplomatic relations, India’s Presidency of G-20 and the International Year of Millets. President of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organisations (VUFO) Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga, stated that the imprints and cultural values of India preserved in Vietnam, serve as an important bridge to deepen the understanding between the two peoples. She said she hopes that the festival would contribute to reinforcing the traditional friendship between Vietnam and India, created and cultivated by the two late leaders, Ho Chi Minh and Jawaharlal Nehru. At the festival, Indian garments, art and craft, henna, mehndi and many other products were on show, attracting a large number of both Indian and Vietnamese people. Vietnam defeat Australia in U20 Asian Cup

Vietnam entered the match as the widely-considered underdogs. The Golden Stars netted their goal in the sixth minute of play following a counter-attack initiated by Khuat Van Khang and finished by Quoc Viet, who fired a stunner into the goal from 20 meters out.
