Hanoi rose village ready for first flower festival

Themed ‘Me Linh with Flowers’ Brilliance,’ the Me Linh Flower Festival is poised to take place as the first of its kind in Me Linh District, some 27 kilometers from Hanoi’s downtown area, from December 9 to 11.

Me Linh District now has 1,294 hectares of flower fields, including 1,152 hectares of roses.

Me Linh flower village is famous for growing various breeds of flowers, which started more than 20 years ago, and is offering fresh flowers for Hanoi and other northern localities.

In preparation for the upcoming flower festival, growers placed more than 1,000 pots of roses, chrysanthemums, and sunflowers along the entrance to the temple worshiping the two Trung sisters (14 AD – 43 AD), who are considered the first heroines of Vietnamese people.

Many kinds of flowers are blooming in preparation for the festival.
