VUFO President Nguyen Phuong Nga congratulated Ambassador Hilde Solbakken on beginning her working term in Vietnam. Nguyen Phuong Nga stated her belief that the Norwegian ambassador would make a positive contribution to the friendship between Vietnam and Norway.
Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Nga introduced VUFO’s role and tasks in building and strengthening the friendship between the Vietnamese and other peoples in the world, particularly the Norwegians.

Congratulating Vietnam on being elected to the United Nations Human Rights Council, and congratulating VUFO for its accomplishments, the Norwegian Ambassador expressed her impression of Vietnam’s achievements in improving the quality of people’s lives in recent years, ensuring that its people live and work in a safe and stable environment. Ambassador Solbakken hoped that in the coming time, the two countries would continue to promote multi-faceted cooperation, with ensuring human rights as the focus.
Both Vietnam and Norway served as non-permanent members of the United Nations Security Council in 2021, where the two countries share common views on issues such as compliance with the UN Charter, compliance with international law, protection of the security, and peace. Ambassador Hilde Solbakken hoped such similarity would lay the foundation for the two countries’ relations to continue developing.
The two sides confirmed their goodwill to continue coordinating activities to strengthen the friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Norway, especially in the field of people-to-people exchanges, ensuring the rights and strengthening the role of women in the two countries.
