Hanoi Streets brightly decorated ahead of National Day celebrations

Red flags, banners, and slogans have been colouring Hanoi’s streets, including Hoang Dieu, Hung Vuong, Dinh Tien Hoang, Thanh Nien, among others, over recent days.

Large posters featuring slogans for the 77th anniversary of National Day are hung out across the capital.

Red flags are put on display at Ba Dinh Square where 77 years ago on September 2, 1945 President Ho Chi Minh read the Declaration of Independence, proclaiming the birth of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, now the Socialist Republic of Vietnam.  

Impressive banners are hung out along Hoang Van Thu street leading to the Presidential Palace.

Hoang Dieu street close to Ba Dinh Square is full of flags and banners ahead of National Day celebrations.

A large-sized poster is put up at the Lieu Giai-Van Cao crossroads.

A large billboard celebrating National Day 2022 is erected on Le Hong Phong street.

National flags are hung oout along Ham Long street.

Red flags and other items with a five-pointed star on them are for sale on Hang Bong street in the Old Quarter.

A large LED screen is hung in front of Trang Tien Plaza, featuring various videos about historical moments in 1945.

Large LED screens are also set up for art performances near Hoan Kiem Lake, also known as Returned Sword Lake.

As Vietnam’s National Day falls on September 2, workers have two days off work on September 1 & 2 according to the law.
