“Hoi An – Colors of Silk" programme to take place in late November

The event is also aimed at introducing silk products to participants from around world whilst simultaneously creating new tourism products in a bid to attract more tourists to Hoi An Ancient Town in the central province of Quang Nam. The scheme will include art and fashion shows through a number of silk collections, featuring the participation of Gami Joint Stock Company and Hoi An Silk Village. A representative of the Center for Culture – Sports and Radio and Television in Hoi An said silk production and trade in Hoi An has experienced plenty of ups and downs recently. The event will contribute to introducing the central city’s unique tourism products, as well as providing a foundation for Hoi An to join UNESCO’s global network of creative cities in the fields of handicrafts and folk art. Ugandan President Arrives to Vietnam, Begins 3-Day Visit

Photo: VNA President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni and a high-ranking delegation of the Republic of Uganda arrived in Hanoi on November 23 afternoon, beginning a three-day visit to Vietnam at the invitation of President Nguyen Xuan Phuc , VNA reported. The delegation accompanying the Ugandan President includes Minister of Foreign Affairs Odongo Jeje Abubakhar; Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development Matia Kasaija; Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry and Fisheries Frank Tumwebaze; and Minister of Information and Communications Chris Baryomunsi. During his stay in Vietnam, President Museveni is scheduled to pay tribute to late President Ho Chi Minh at his mausoleum in Hanoi, hold talks with his Vietnamese counterpart, witness the signing of cooperation documents, and pay courtesy visits to Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong
